Taylor Lautner, known for his role in the Twilight saga, and his wife Tay Lautner have announced the arrival of their first child, a baby girl named Lennon Taylor. The couple shared the news on Wednesday, 23rd September, revealing their daughter was born a week prior, on 16th September 2026.

A Meaningful Name for the New Arrival

The baby girl, affectionately nicknamed “Lenny,” carries her mother’s maiden name as her middle name, paying homage to both parents who share the first name Taylor, according to People.com.

The announcement came via a joint Instagram post, featuring a photo of “Lenny” in a pink onesie next to a needlepoint revealing her full name, “Lennon Taylor Lautner,” beneath an image of a teddy bear holding a pink balloon.

The caption accompanying the photo read: “One week loving our sweet little Lenny🤍 Lennon Taylor Lautner🎀 9.16.2026.”

Pregnancy Journey Shared with Public

The Lautners first announced they were expecting in March, later revealing the baby’s sex in June.

Throughout her pregnancy, Tay Lautner openly discussed her experiences. On an April episode of her podcast, The Squeeze, she admitted feeling “scared” about sharing her pregnancy publicly, noting how “sacred” privacy is when in the spotlight, as reported by People.com.

She also spoke candidly about struggles with body image, saying she had “not feeling great” about the changes to her body and found herself comparing her pregnant body to other pregnant women who remained “skinny and fit.”

The couple celebrated their impending arrival with a baby shower on 19th August. The event was planned with the help of influencer Jaclyn Hill and her husband, chef and food influencer Jordan Farnum. Tay captioned an Instagram post from the day, calling it “the shower of my dreams!”

The Lautner Family Story

Taylor and Tay Lautner, who became engaged in 2021, married in November 2022. The couple began dating in 2018.

Due to both sharing the same first and last name, friends often distinguish them by referring to them as “Boy Tay” and “Girl Tay,” as noted by Just Jared.

The choice of Lennon Taylor as the baby’s name had been a topic of discussion for Tay during her pregnancy. On an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, she joked that she felt “so much pressure naming a human” and wondered if fans would truly want the name “Taylor” for the baby.
